Web site back up
Just a quick post to say my web site is back. After contacting them twice they just lifted the suspension with no explanation of what was wrong !!!
Web Site off line
It appears that there is a problem with my web site. According to the email I got this morning I either used an automatically generated website (whatever that is) or included a malicious script. The only thing I have done recently is put my painting Poppy Field up yesterday, I did this the same way as all my other pages. Until I get this issue resolved if you need any information on portrait commissions or other art for sale please contact me through this blog. I get an email every time a comment is left and will get back to you as soon as I can.

Poppy Field
This is my first painting of 2012. It is pastel on Ingress paper 10" x 7". For this one I wanted to try a looser style than normal. I found it a lot quicker to work loose but kept wanting to put more detail in.
I`ve not decided what to do next yet but it will depend on what I do if I try to work loose again or do it with a lot of detail.

An old watercolour
This is a watercolour I did of a local farm in my early days. The owner of the farm asked a number of times to buy it. I finally gave in just before christmas so it has now gone to a new home.
Latest work
These are my two latest pictures. The horse is on Ingress paper and is 7" x 10" and is a mix of pastel pencils and soft pastels.
The Snow Leopard is on Mi-Teintes paper and is 7" x 5" pastel pencils have been used for the Leopard and a soft pastel has been used to block in the background. This is a paper you either love or hate and I am closer to hating it than loving it. I will try to find something to use it up on and not buy any more. Because I am not happy with the look of this one it is doubtful it will go up for sale.

What I use
Just incase anybody`s interested I thought I would pos the type of pastels I use. I have Ashby soft pastels, Derwent pastel pencils, Faber Castell Pitt pastel pencils and Conte Crayons (a very hard pastel). I buy most of my supplies from the SAA. For landscapes I use mainly the Ashby with the pastel pencils for detail, for portraits I use mainly the pastel pencils with the soft pastles for the background if needed. The Conte Crayons I use for sketching and when I need a sharp line over the other pastels.
